- Yesterday was my mom's birthday. My brother and his girlfriend were supposed to come over from Sacramento so that we all could make a day out of it. My brother's grand plan was to take our mom out for lunch, then take her shopping, then take her out to dinner. Unfortunately my brother and his girlfriend were both sick, so we had to postpone. I met my mom in Palo Alto by myself. We went to the farmer's market, where I bought soy omelet, a smoked duck breast, and a yummy German hazelnut bread. We then went to Menlo Park to eat at Stacks. Yum.
- My roommate has been talking a lot lately about how he wants to get his own place, now that his parents have agreed to resume financial support while he's still in school. This is good. Maybe he'll decide to leave earlier than we originally agreed (towards the end of December this year) and I can have the place to myself again.
- Bill really liked the L'Occitane stuff I sent him (shower gel and shaving cream). I'm happy, because it's not very often that I get to surprise him with stuff.
- My new manager has extended offers of employment to two out of the seven people I referred to him, and both of them have accepted. Wheeee! One thousand dollars for me! Here's hoping for more!
- I've decided to order a Wusthof Classic santoku knife and a Le Creuset 7.25-quart round french oven from Amazon. With the french oven, I get a gift with purchase - a Le Creuset spatula set with holder, valued at around $65. Funcomealive!
- My childhood friend Ernie (who now lives in Las Vegas) wants to come out and visit for a few days in December. Hopefully my roommate will be gone by then, so that Ernie can stay here. I wonder what he'll think of Snorty McDoggelsson... I seem to remember him being afraid of dogs.
- Halloween is fast approaching. Should I stock up on candy just in case kids actually go trick-or-treating in this neighborhood? I wasn't here last year so I don't know for sure.
- While walking Devon this afternoon I saw a homeless woman squatting and peeing in the middle of the grassy area in front of the tennis courts at the Guadalupe River Park. Yuck. I called the cops on her. Hahaha. Dunno if they actually came out to cite her, though.
- I looove Sky Flakes. Sky Flakes, Sky Flakes, malutong... kahit na anong ipatong...
- Another week at the new job is about to begin. I wonder what the cafeteria will serve this week...
