Solstice

It's official! Summer's here! Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, which means two things:
  1. It is now officially summer
  2. The days will start getting shorter from here on out
As if on cue, today has shaped up to be a scorcher. Earlier this afternoon when I picked Slobberdog up from the vet, my car's thermometer said it was 101 degrees outside. It is now 6:35 PM, but it's still 91 degrees outside, according to Yahoo weather.

Phew! I'm staying indoors tonight! I've got the AC going and an ice-cold glass of Coke next to me. Oh, speaking of AC... I almost had a heart attack when I saw my latest electric bill. PG&E was charging me almost $300! Holy crap! My normal bill is around $60-$80, so you can just imagine my shock when I saw the latest bill.

I called PG&E up, and they said it was most likely due to a misread meter. DUH. Of course! They offered to correct it while we were on the phone, but I had to have access to my electric meter. Well, I don't even know where it is. LOL. Anyway, they said that the next time the meter reader comes out, they will correct the discrepancy. Yikes.

By the way, Famous Dogmous had a vet checkup today. They checked his heart rhythms again, as well as his liver function. All's well in doggy land! No abnormal rhythms detected, and his enzymes are almost back to normal! The doctor said I should continue his medication until it runs out, then that should be it. Yippee!
