For our Thanksgiving feast I bought Honeybaked Ham. It was huge, because the store had run out of the smaller ones, so we have a lot of leftovers. I decided to use the ham bone (along with the meat portion that wasn't spiral-cut) to make soup - the kind of soup that's so rich and thick that it is a meal in and of itself.
The left over ham, along with the bone, sits in the fridge tightly wrapped in foil, waiting to be cooked. I think I'm gonna make the soup Thursday or Friday. This evening I found a recipe for ham and lentil soup on epicurious.com. It looks good, so I'll try it out. Good thing I've retrieved almost all of my kitchen stuff from the old apartment! Will report back on how the soup turned out.
Me love the lentil.
